That’s why I paint paintings of horses
An important motif among my paintings is horses. They are incredibly beautiful animals with the radiance in eyes, body and movements that I also see in dancers. Therefore, horses and dancers are an ever-recurring theme in my paintings.
The horse is a spiritual animal, and reportedly the animal that helps the shaman into the spirit world. I constantly feel that spirituality in my own horses, where communication and cohesion are both strong and infinitely fragile.
Expressing that in words can quickly become banal or sentimental, but that is the relationship with the horse that I portray in my horse paintings.
